Well, I decided I needed to build something! Inspired by the likes of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways and the inspiring Bron Hebog blog (yet to see the layout in the flesh), I'm planning to build a small-ish layout that will fit across the bed in my spare room.
It's loosely based on Tan y Bwlch on the Ffestinog Railway with a passing loop and sidings:

Total size will be 900 mm by 2,400 mm approx.
The left hand curve will be on a raised embankment, similar to that at the 'up' end of Tan y Bwlch with the right hand end disappearing into a tunnel, probably similar to Garnedd Tunnel.
This may take a while to finish!
